Lizzo made a bold fashion statement with her little black dress at the Billboard Music Awards on Wednesday night. Lizzo wore a black mini dress with the word “Vote” all over it.

While accepting her award for Top Song Sales Artist the “Juicy” artist discussed being suppressed. “I wonder, would I be standing here right now if it weren’t for the big Black women who refused to have their voices be suppressed?” asked Lizzo rhetorically.

Lizzo urged fans to not let their voice be suppressed and urged them to be their true self. “There’s power in who you are,” said Lizzo. “There’s power in your voice. So whether it’s through music, protests, or your right to vote, use your power, use your voice, and refuse to be suppressed.”
