Lenny Kravitz Explains Why He Dropped Out of the Marvin Gaye Biopic

Lenny Kravitz was one of the names to play Marvin Gaye in an upcoming biopic.

To get into the role Lenny went to the church Marvin Gaye sang The Lord’s Prayer, went to the gym he worked out of and even went to his old apartment.

Then Lenny quit the role.

Revealing now that it just didn’t feel right, something felt off.

I can’t even tell you what it was. I gracefully bowed out with due respect to the director. Playing Marvin Gaye is a wonderful opportunity but I’m trying to do my thing.
