Taraji P. Henson Honored for Mental Health Work

Empire star Taraji P. Henson has been recognized for her tireless mental health work.

Henson was just honored by the Ruderman Family Foundation for her work to halt the stigma that surrounds mental illness.

“Tell someone. Your vulnerability is actually your strength,” Henson said when she received her Morton E. Ruderman Award in Inclusion. “It’s OK to not be OK.”

Henson became focused on mental health after her father, a military veteran “returned broken.”
