In a recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine Lauryn Hill discussed why there was never a studio follow-up to her solo hit album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.

She blamed her label for suffocating her creative process.

She said when she announced she was going to do a solo album coming off the success of The Fugees, she was not met with support.

She said there was politics and obstructionists in her way to creating the follow up project.

Lauryn says because she pushed back against them she was considered an enemy.
