The Tribute to Aretha Franklin was one of the best tributes I have seen in a long time. Even though great artist like Celine Dion, Jenifer Hudson, Patti Labelle, Fantaisa, Shirley Ceasar and a host of others showed their respects through song, the artist that stood out was H.E.R. All of the artist did great job however, they all did what was expected of the them. H.E.R did a rendition of “Say a little prayer for you” and I do believe Aretha Franklin would be very proud of her. Yolonda Adams teamed up with Fantaisa, Alissa Carr and Brandi Carlile to do  Aretha Fanklin’s hit “You make me feel like a natural woman”. Yolanda Adams took to the stage with Common to perform the Black Anthem “Young Gifted and Black” and as we know Aretha’s roots started in the church so Pastor Shirley Ceasar, BeBe Winans and of course Yolanda Adams took us to church with the classic “How I got Over”. The closing remarks of Mr. Clive Davis who had worked with Aretha for over 30 years summed it up best when he stated, “There will never be another Aretha Franklin” and I must agree.
