Emmett Till’s Childhood Home Is Named a Chicago Landmark

The home that Emmett Till grew up in has been declared a landmark by the Chicago City Council.
Emmett Till is the 14 year old Black boy from Chicago who was kidnapped, beaten and lynched after he was accused of whistling at a white woman.
His mom continued to live in a three bedroom apartment in the homes 2nd floor until 1962.
