In his return to Saturday Night Live, Dave Chapelle delivered a memorable and intense 16-minute monologue.

He started out with, “I would implore everybody who’s celebrating today to remember, it’s good to be a humble winner. Remember when I was here four years ago? Remember how bad that felt? Remember that half the country right now feels that way.”

He then talked about his great-grandfather, who was a slave, COVID-19, wearing masks, police officers, his most recent Netflix special, and how the country is far from being safer.

He ended his monologue talking about how white people’s life expectancy is dropping due to drugs and suicide, and how people need to forgive each other and find joy.
