Russian authorities have extended Brittney Griner’s detention for a third time. The 31-year-old WNBA star, who’s been locked up in a Russian jail since February, will now stay behind bars until July 2nd – at the earliest, according to the state-run news agency Tass. However, Griner could remain locked up even longer than that. Tass quotes a “top Russian diplomat” who says Griner will remain detained until an investigation into her case has been completed. Are Russian investigators dragging their feet because Griner is an American?
