Alicia Keys Making Documentary On Black Women Entertainers
Alicia Keys is shining the light on Black women in entertainment.
She is teaming with PBS to create a documentary titled American Masters: How It Feels To Be Free.
Six legendary entertainers have been chosen to spotlight: Lena Horne, Nina Simone, Diahann Carroll, Cicely Tyson, Pam Grier, and Abbey Lincoln. These women had to overcome the roadblocks of racism and sexism to make their way in the business.
Keys will executive produce the documentary. It is scheduled to air sometime in early 2021.
