50 Cent Admits to Not Owning Bitcoin
50 Cent has admitted in court, that he did not make make $8 million in Bitcoin by accepting the cryptocurrency when he released his “Animal Ambition” album in 2014.
In court Friday, 50 admitted that he never owned Bitcoin and the only reason he went along with the report was because as he put it, “so long as a press story is not irreparably damaging my image or brand, I usually don’t feel the need to publicly deny the reporting.”
It’s not clear if 50 is just lying to bankruptcy court or not, but he did have to show proof that he didn’t own any Bitcoin at all.
He says the 700 Bitcoin he reportedly earned through album sales was converted to US dollars by a third party before 50 or any company associated with him received anything.
Do you think 50 is lying to bankruptcy court or he’s been lying to his fans all this time to keep his image? Is your brand that important that you just let stories about you run even if they’re not true?
